The North of Brazil

(Dave the wonder years)The last time I posted on the blog was in Palmas after a day at the beach with the lads. A lot has happened since then, then there was more.
After Palmas was our first loving visit to Porto Velho or "old port" as Henry VIII called it. What I love about this mountainous voyage of discovery is the huge variety of things and people you meet on the way. Porto Velho was for me a real eye opener. It's a cty of huge contrasts and diverse cultures and is in a state of perpetual development. SESC Porto Velho has a great octagonalised theatre that alows the perfomer to intimately connected with the public. They really appreciated our close presence and were quick to lap up the music. Well done to the production team even if they did a nice con job on the fifteen note entry fee.
After Porto Velho came Rio Branco, forty minutes by plane of twelve hours if you think its a beter idea to go via Brasilia.. I liked the Tacacá there and the city is really pretty with its arty re-developed centre and its quantity of snugs. I for one will be visiting on my way through to Columbia.
More to follow.
